Blue Heron River Tours at St. Johns Marina & Resort

Your Blue Heron River Tour is a front row ticket to the world of nature. The custom-built vessel, "Great Blue," was specifically designed to cruise the quiet and shallow backwater areas where wildlife viewing is best. The interactive narrative supplied by their Coast Guard licensed captains offer a comprehensive insight into the fragile beauty of the St. Johns River. Your two hour Blue Heron River Tour will take you on a trip south on the St. Johns River near the manatee refuge at Blue Spring State Park. It's not unusual to view adult and baby alligators, turtles and a large variety of wading birds. Although the winter months are best for seeing manatees, they're occassionally seen feeding on the river all year long.

Along the way, your captain will provide frequent stops for wildlife viewing and photography, discussions of river history and human environmental impact and a full two-hour immersion in the magnificent splendor of the St. Johns River watershed. Blue Heron River Tours is open seven days a week: November through May. We are open Thursday through Sunday in the summer: June, July and August. We are open 5 days during September and October, and closed Monday's and Saturday's. Call or check online reservations for availability.
