Captain Matt Hodgs is a United States Coast Guard licensed and insured captain and owner of Fins n' Tails - Fishing Charters of New Smyrna Beach, which is based in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Matt has been fishing these waters (offshore and inshore) since he was five years old. So, to put a number to it, Matt has been on these waters for 35 years and growing. Captain Matt has fished the entire Eastern Seabord (from Virginia coast line to the southern Caribbean islands as well as Central American Pacific fishing) for several species of fish that include Redfish, Seatrout, Snook, Tarpon and Flounder for the inshore, and Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Sharks, many Jack species and several other pelagic fish for the offshore fishing.

Matt has taken all of the fishing tactics throughout all of these places to help catch and stay ahead of the fish he fishes for here locally in New Smyrna Beach & Daytona Beach waters. While fishing is the name of the game, Matt is very much a family man and loves to take families and kids fishing. Seeing the smiles on the little priates assures that the fishing community will continue to grow. This is a destination place with the Daytona 500, Bike Week, Biketoberfest, FishStock Fishing Tournament, King of the Inlet Fishing Tournament, New Smyrna Beach Billfish Invitational, and a handful of other smaller tournaments.
