Osteen

Nobody needs to be told that beaches and the coast have plenty of attractions. But take a stroll around the 150-acre Hickory Bluff Preserve overlooking the St. Johns River and you'll quickly understand that heading inland from the Atlantic Ocean is a worthwhile trip. The cypress domes and scrubby flatwoods in the preserve are just one reason to visit. A tour of Osteen also provides the chance to sample truly fresh orange juice at Pell's Citrus & Nursery or to shoot a quick round at Cypress Point Golf Club. A friendly atmosphere and a menu of old-fashioned favorites make a stop at Osteen Diner a must - whether you're heading back to the coast or staying put for an evening or two.

Osteen is located just west of New Smyrna Beach off of State Road 415. If you’re looking for a more laid-back and slow-paced country feel, Osteen is the perfect place for you. While visiting, be sure to check out Beck Ranch Park. The 250-acre Beck Ranch site was originally a working cattle ranch. Volusia County purchased the land in order to preserve the historical structures and provide a multipurpose park for county residents and visitors to enjoy. The park features huge live oak trees and Florida-friendly landscaping and still has the ranch’s scale house, grain silo and slaughter house.
