Canaveral National Seashore: Seaside Adventures

Most people have heard about national parks, but not many of a national seashore. And, here it is… Canaveral National Seashore, right in New Smyrna Beach’s backyard. With 57,000 acres to explore, Canaveral National Seashore is a pristine beach ecosystem set aside for the enjoyment of all who visit. It is a sanctuary to endangered wildlife such as turtles, seabirds, manatees, the Right whale, and others. There are 27 miles of shoreline to enjoy, so it also makes a great viewing spot for rocket launches taking place from Kennedy Space Center. Activities include: the annual Turtle Watch in May as the endangered Loggerhead Turtle comes to nest; a monthly guided canoe tour of Mosquito Lagoon that leaves from Apollo Beach; Night Sky Exploration events in the winter months to see constellations, planets, and nebula. There are many adventures to be had at the Canaveral National Seashore – plan your visit today!
