The name says it all—this ice cream shop is just steps from the water. Located on Flagler Avenue, Treats on the Beach serves up just about every flavor imaginable. Bubblegum to butter pecan, there’s a hard or soft serve option for everyone. Cup, sugar and waffle cones are available, but specialty cones with chocolate chips or M&Ms really elevate your dessert. Order at the walk-up window, then either take your sweet snack to go or find a seat at one of the covered tables nearby.

Donna’s Canal Creamery

This cute little spot is located right on the corner of Canal and Rush Streets. Step inside this part coffee shop, part ice cream parlor and you’ll instantly feel right at home. Shabby chic décor, wood accent walls, and blackboard signage are reminders that you’ve discovered a quaint local gem. With 25 different flavors of ice cream, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Add a topping like colorful sprinkles, M&M’s, marshmallows, or fudge to really indulge. If it’s a sunny day, we recommend strolling down historic Canal Street with your cone in hand.

The newest kid on the ice cream block has something special just for adults. Boozy flavors like the Mystic Slide (a blend of Kahlua, amaretto, and a splash of vodka) or the Butterscotch Cookie (butterscotch schnapps with a sweet crunch) make this ice cream parlor a favorite spot for grown-ups. Inventive flavors like cantaloupe, Thai tea, and southern banana pudding also pop up from time to time. All the ice creams at Neighbors are crafted with fresh, local ingredients. Sauces and toppings are made from scratch with real fruit and chocolate. Order at the walk-up window or head inside to browse the old-timey general store filled with candies, soda, gift items and more.

Little Drug Company

Get a little slice of nostalgia—and a scoop of ice cream at the same time! Visitors will find a relic of days gone by tucked away inside this full-service pharmacy. Little’s old-fashioned soda fountain serves up cool treats with lots of retro vibes. Traipse across the black and white checkered floor and grab a red stool at the lunch counter to place your order. Choose from an assortment of Hershey’s ice cream flavors—like coffee, butter pecan, or strawberry. Get it served in a dish or cone or opt for a decadent sundae, ice cream soda, parfait or milkshake.
