New Smyrna Beach is always voted one of the best beaches in Florida by many different surveys, and this is a poll that definitely does not need a recount! The Orlando Sentinel voted New Smyrna Beach Florida’s Best Beach for ten years in a row! It’s no surprise when you look out onto the white sandy beaches that stretch down the Atlantic coast and border the beautiful ocean tides. In fact, these beaches are especially known for their outstanding surfing. But there’s much more to do than ride the waves. It’s a great place to go swimming, fishing, walking, biking, and sunbathing. Your furry friends are also welcome on certain parts of the beaches, like on the inlet side of the beach at Lighthouse Point Park, Ponce Inlet and Smyrna Dunes Park. Flying kites is another favorite activity amongst visitors, which is why they host the New Smyrna Beach Kite Festival each year! Any reason to put your feet in this gorgeous sand is a good reason!
