The Arts Trail

he burgeoning art scene by gallery hopping your way through New Smyrna Beach. Each gallery has a unique niche, covering everything from photography to jewelry to Bob Ross Paintings. The trail starts at the Atlantic Center for the Arts and winds through a total of seven galleries, most of which are right along the water. If you’re an artist yourself, many of the galleries offer classes and lessons, as well as special events and exhibits. Make sure to hit The Hub on Canal for Friday movie nights and Jane’s Art Center for pottery classes.
The Spirits Trail
New Smyrna Beach is certainly a fun destination for the 21+ crowd and the Spirits Trail offers a perfectly crafted itinerary for a bar crawl. Start off your trek with a visit to The Garlic. The rustic atmosphere complements the restaurant’s wide array of Italian dishes and extensive wine list. Other stops include Flagler Tavern and The Bounty, where the speakeasy theme will transport you to the days of Prohibition. You can also drink a signature cocktail while catching the sunset at Outriggers Tiki Bar, located right on the marina. End your night at Sugar Works Distillery, where you can book a distillery tour and try local spirits right in the taproom itself.
The Outdoors Trail
With a whopping 39 miles of beautiful landscapes along the Outdoors Trail, there’s no shortage of outdoor activities in New Smyrna Beach. Whether you’re a hiker, biker, kayaker, or even just a dog-walker, this trail is for you. For hiking or walking, check out Smyrna Dunes Park and Spruce Creek Preserve. You can also walk along the shore at Grayce K. Bark North Beach Community Park and Canaveral National Seashore. If you want to make a splash, multiple places rent kayaks, paddleboards and canoes on the Outdoors Trail, including Paddleboard New Smyrna Beach and the Marine Discovery Center, which also offers boat tours.
The Waterfront Dining Trail
This trail is a foodie’s paradise. With nine stops, there are plenty of options for meals with a view in New Smyrna Beach. Dine with perfect waterfront views at a variety of tasty spots, each of which offers a unique menu and, of course, delicious seafood. Aunt Catfish’s on the River, River Deck Tiki Bar and Grille at Riverview are just a few of the many spots along this trail. Another locally-loved favorite on this trail is JB’s Fish Camp, one-stop-shop offering seafood as well as kayak and paddleboard rentals.
The History Trail
Our history trail provides an eye-opening exploration of our seaside paradise. Adventure through early colonial settlement sites, like those at Old Fort Park, and dive deep into our history at locations such as Sugar Mill Ruins, the New Smyrna Museum of History, the Mary S. Harrell Black Heritage Museum and more.
