The historical Turnbull Ruins are located in this park along with the historic New Smyrna Beach Free Library, which now houses the New Smyrna Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. This park is located along Riverside Drive across Sams Avenue from City Hall. Several paths and benches are scattered under a beautiful canopy of oak trees. A mysterious 55’ x 86’ coquina foundation boasting walls five-and-a-half feet thick is the focus of this park. Some claim it was a Spanish fort predating St. Augustine. Others believe this was founder Andrew Turnbull’s town mansion.
